(New Jersey).- The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) just released May 2024 revenue numbers, revealing another monthly record. New Jersey’s casinos, horse tracks that take sports bets and their online partners won nearly $510 million from gamblers in May, an increase of 8.3% from a year earlier, according to figures released Friday by state gambling regulators.

NJ Online Casinos revealed record in gross gaming revenue in May

May marks the third month with the NJDGE reporting on a breakdown of online casino win by operator. And while the casinos’ core business — money won from in-person gamblers — collectively surpassed the pre-pandemic total of May 2019, before the COVID-19 outbreak, only three of the nine casinos won more from in-person gamblers last month than they did in May 2019.

“May provided a promising start for the summer season, and positive momentum has been building, James Plousis, chairman of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission said in a statement. “Consumer interest has been strong, driven by must-see unique investments recently made in the casino hotels.”

May online casino revenue reported by NJ operators and their partners was $192.1 million. This figure represents a 19.0% year-over-year growth compared to the $161.4 million reported in May last year. It is also a 2.2% increase from the $187.9 million NJ online casino win for April 2024.

Casino Win:
Based upon filings with the Division of Gaming Enforcement, Casino Win for the nine casino hotel properties was $239.1 million for May 2024, reflecting an increase of 5.2% when compared to $227.3 million reported in May 2023. Year-to-date Casino Win for the nine casino hotel properties was $1.11 billion, which is essentially flat compared to the year-to-date casino win for May 2023. The Monthly Gross Revenue Reports are posted on the Division’s website at https://www.njoag.gov/about/divisions-and-offices/division-of-gaming-enforcement-home/financial-and-statistical-information/monthly-gross-revenue-reports/

Internet Gaming Win:
For the month of May 2024, Internet Gaming Win reported by casinos and their partners was $192.1 million, reflecting growth of 19.0% when compared to $161.4 million reported in May 2023. For the year-to-date period, Internet Gaming Win reported by casinos and their partners was $942.8 million, reflecting growth of 20.6% when compared to $781.5 million for the prior year-to-date period. The Monthly Internet Gross Revenue Reports for May 2024 are posted on the Division’s website at https://www.njoag.gov/about/divisions-and-offices/division-of-gaming-enforcement-home/financial-and-statistical-information/monthly-internet-gross-revenue-reports/

Sports Wagering Gross Revenue:
Sports Wagering Gross Revenue reported by casinos, racetracks, and their partners was $78.8 million for May 2024, reflecting a 4.2% decrease when compared to $82.2 million reported in May 2023. Sports Wagering Gross Revenue reported by casinos, racetracks, and their partners was $513.0 million for the year-to-date period, reflecting a 37.0% increase when compared to $374.5 million reported in the prior year-to-date period. The Monthly Sports Wagering Revenue Tax Returns for May 2024 are posted on the Division’s website at https://www.njoag.gov/about/divisions-and-offices/division-of-gaming-enforcement-home/financial-and-statistical-information/monthly-sports-wagering-revenue-reports/
